As more car manufacturers choose to switch to electric cars, Google is launching new Maps features specifically for EV drivers. These cars will have Google built-in, which will direct the driver to the closest charging station.
Anyone driving an EV will need to stop for an EV charging station, and these built-in Maps will recommend the best spot to do so. These maps will depict the route based on variables such as current traffic conditions, anticipated energy consumption, and charge level.
Additionally, Google said: “With just a few taps, you can easily swap it with another station if you don’t want to go to that particular station.”
The user can locate EV charging stations with a charger of 150 kilowatts or more by using the “very fast” charging filter on the map. According to Google, the new update will enable users of a number of cars to have enough power to refuel and hit the road in less than 40 minutes.
Google stated, “We’ll also let you know when locations like supermarkets need to have on-site charging stations.”
A Live View feature and more immersive views have been added to Google Maps in recent updates. This feature will combine billions of Street View and aerial images with advances in AI and computer vision to produce a detailed, digital representation of the entire world.
