In a significant stride towards sustainable transportation, GreenLine Mobility Solutions, an Essar venture and India’s sole green logistics operator utilizing LNG and electric heavy commercial vehicles, inaugurated a new fleet of LNG-powered trucks from Chakan, Pune. This expansion is supported by Shriram Finance Limited, one of the country’s largest non-banking financial companies (NBFCs).

With this initiative, GreenLine reinforces its leadership in India’s low-carbon logistics revolution. The company’s current fleet of over 650 LNG trucks has already traversed 40 million kilometers, reducing more than 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Serving leading companies across sectors like FMCG, e-commerce, cement, mining, oil & gas, and chemicals, the fleet symbolizes a significant shift in sustainable transport.

GreenLine plans to deploy over 10,000 LNG and electric trucks, supported by an ambitious infrastructure network comprising 100 LNG refueling stations, EV charging points, and battery swapping facilities nationwide. The aim is to curb up to 1 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

Each of GreenLine’s heavy-duty trucks weighs 55 tonnes with a payload capacity of 40 tonnes and boasts a range of up to 1,400 km on a single filling. These advanced vehicles have demonstrated impressive reductions in toxic emissions compared to traditional diesel-powered trucks, including up to 30% in CO₂, up to 100% in SOx, up to 59% in NOx, up to 91% in particulate matter, and up to 70% in CO.

The company serves a prestigious clientele, including industry leaders such as Vedanta Group, JSW Steel & Cement, Tata Steel, Hindustan Zinc, Jindal Steel and Power, JK Lakshmi Cement, AMNS, Hindalco, Dalmia Cement, UltraTech Cement, GHCL, Reliance, Shell, Nestle, Castrol, and Sterlite Copper. GreenLine’s LNG-powered trucks are equipped with six Level 1 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and telematics, enabling clients to monitor vehicle performance and manage cargo in real-time.

Looking ahead, GreenLine is set to introduce electric vehicles (EVs) for short-haul transport, further diversifying its portfolio and strengthening its commitment to eco-friendly solutions. By integrating EVs into operations, the company aims to complement its LNG initiatives and provide a comprehensive suite of sustainable transport options that meet the diverse needs of clients while contributing to a greener planet.
