Henkel Adhesive Technologies India has introduced its first fully electric truck in the country. The vehicle, designed to support Henkel’s long-term carbon reduction goals, offers a claimed range of 250 kilometers on a single charge, marking a major milestone in the company’s green logistics journey.
The electric truck will be deployed for regional deliveries in and around Pune, Maharashtra. Henkel stated that the introduction of the EV is aimed at decarbonizing its supply chain and supporting its commitment to achieving climate-positive operations by 2030. The company plans to extend the electric truck fleet based on operational results and regional feasibility.
Developed in collaboration with a local logistics partner, the truck has been optimized for durability, range, and load capacity, making it suitable for industrial transport. Henkel emphasized that the new EV will help reduce Scope 3 emissions associated with third-party logistics providers.
This initiative is part of Henkel’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes the use of electric forklifts, solar-powered warehouses, and energy-efficient technologies across its manufacturing sites in India. The company has already implemented several eco-friendly logistics solutions, and the addition of an electric truck marks a major next step.
With rising fuel costs and increasing pressure on companies to reduce their environmental footprint, Henkel’s move is in line with growing trends across the logistics and supply chain sectors. By adopting EVs for intra-state deliveries, the company is not only cutting emissions but also reducing noise and operational costs.
Henkel India’s leadership confirmed that more electric trucks will be considered in future phases, aligned with its carbon neutrality roadmap. The company reiterated its vision to create a cleaner logistics ecosystem and lead by example in India’s transition to sustainable transport.
