Brooklyn-based startup HEVO has initiated a public crowdfunding campaign to expand its wireless electric vehicle (EV) charging technology. The campaign invites early investors to support the deployment of HEVO’s next-generation charging pads, aiming to simplify the EV charging experience by eliminating the need for cables and plugs.
HEVO’s wireless charging system allows drivers to park over a pad embedded in or just beneath the pavement, automatically initiating charging without manual connections. This design not only enhances convenience but also reduces exposure to weather-related issues and potential vandalism.
The company has already secured partnerships with major automakers, with plans for vehicles equipped with HEVO’s technology to enter production between 2027 and 2029. Additionally, HEVO’s system supports bi-directional charging, enabling EVs to supply power back to homes, contributing to more resilient energy infrastructure.
HEVO’s technology boasts several certifications and features: it is the first wireless EV charging platform to receive both UL and SAE certifications, offers power delivery and efficiency comparable to traditional plug-in chargers, and is designed for universal compatibility across global markets.
The crowdfunding campaign is part of a broader initiative to raise awareness and support for wireless EV charging solutions. HEVO aims to leverage this campaign to accelerate the adoption of its technology, paving the way for a future where EV charging is as effortless as charging a smartphone.
