The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) unveiled 50 kW fast charging stations today at the Guldhar and Duhai stops on the Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, marking its expansion of clean-energy infrastructure along the route .
The new units, capable of charging four-wheeled electric vehicles to approximately 80% in 30 minutes, increase the total to three EV charging stations along the 82‑kilometer RRTS line, joining the earlier-installed setup at Sahibabad.
Commuters can reserve charging slots, monitor in real time, and make digital payments through the ElectreeFi app, available on both iOS and Android platforms, NCRTC said.
This green initiative enhances last-mile connectivity and encourages cleaner urban transport, especially benefiting local commuters, the NCRTC added.
Beyond vehicle chargers, the NCRTC has installed rooftop solar panels at multiple stations—including Guldhar, Duhai, and Sahibabad—resulting in 2.21 MWp of solar capacity, reducing CO₂ emissions by over 2,300 tonnes annually.
Officials say the corridor’s long-term goal is to generate 11 MW of renewable energy—covering up to 70% of its non-traction power requirements—with charging and solar infrastructure underlining a broader effort to build sustainable, future-ready transit systems.
