In a move to make electric mobility more accessible, Honda has launched a new “Lite” Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan for its Activa Electric scooter. The plan is aimed at enhancing affordability for daily commuters while supporting Honda’s long-term EV ambitions in India.

The new Lite Plan reduces the monthly battery subscription cost from ₹1,999 to ₹1,199 (inclusive of GST), offering significant savings for budget-conscious riders. The plan includes access to Honda battery swapping stations located across Bengaluru, ensuring convenient power access for users on the go.

Under this scheme, Honda Activa Electric customers can now opt for a fixed rental plan where they own the vehicle chassis but subscribe to the battery, significantly reducing the upfront cost of owning an electric two-wheeler. Honda will provide battery swapping support to keep the scooter running efficiently throughout the day.

Honda currently operates 13 battery swapping stations across key locations in Bengaluru, including Indiranagar, Koramangala, HSR Layout, and MG Road. The network is expected to expand rapidly as Honda prepares to scale up its electric two-wheeler deployment across India.

The new Lite Plan targets riders with shorter daily commutes or those looking to test EV waters without a heavy financial commitment. It also supports the company’s broader vision to encourage clean mobility adoption through a flexible and economical battery ownership model.

With this initiative, Honda strengthens its push into India’s EV market by addressing cost-related barriers, offering reliable energy infrastructure, and delivering a value-driven ownership experience for the iconic Activa Electric.
