By building 11 new stations, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has significantly increased the number of Ultra-Fast charging stations in India. As well as being situated along important highways like Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Surat, and Mumbai-Nashik, these strategically placed stations are found in key cities like Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Gurugram, and Bangalore. Three different sized charging stations (DC 150kW, DC 60kW, and DC 30kW) are included in each station to suit a variety of electronic vehicle models. The majority of stations have shopping centers and eateries to improve the experience for electric vehicle users, and they are open around-the-clock for extra convenience.
Executive Director of Corporate Planning at HMIL Jae Wan Ryu emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing the EV ownership experience and assisting the government of India in its electrification initiatives. Hyundai is committed to providing quick charging options, especially for users of its IONIQ 5 smartphone, which can charge from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes.
Pricing for charging sessions at the Ultra-Fast charging stations is competitive, with the 30kW charger costing Rs 18, the 60kW charger costing Rs 21, and the 150kW charger costing Rs 24. In addition to capabilities for digital payments, navigation, and charging status monitoring, the Hyundai app, myHyundai, makes it simple to find and reserve charging places.
Hyundai intends to add ten or more new Ultra-Fast charging stations to its network in 2024, with the goal of improving the entire EV experience for both Hyundai and non-Hyundai EV users. Furthermore, as part of its contract with the Tamil Nadu government, the company promised to add 100 charging stations by 2027, demonstrating its dedication to the expansion of EV infrastructure in India.
