Hyundai Motor Company unveiled its all-electric IONIQ 9 SUV at the famed Goldstein House in Beverly Hills, California, ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The site, which is renowned for its mid-century modern architecture, was chosen to showcase the SUV’s spacious design and Hyundai’s commitment to electrification leadership.

Set against the stunning LA cityscape, the event drew over 300 international media representatives, influencers, and business executives. José Muñoz, President and Global Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Company, reiterated Hyundai’s commitment to electric vehicles in his remarks to begin the premiere.

The IONIQ 5 and 6 have received multiple World Car of the Year honors. We raise up our game today with the IONIQ 9, showcasing our expertise in electrification,” Muñoz stated.

Along with a roomy third row and movable seats, the vehicle also has Hyundai’s Universal Island 2.0 console for more versatility. During the ceremony, die-cast replicas were used to highlight these design elements, and exhibit pieces, such a boat sculpture centerpiece, symbolized the vehicle’s creative influence.

K-culture had a big impact on the premiere’s entertainment and cuisine, creating a vibrant and captivating atmosphere. “The IONIQ 9 is the evolution of the IONIQ brand and its values of innovation, sustainability, and human-centric design,” said Sungwon Jee, Global Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President.

In addition to celebrating the company’s latest innovation, Hyundai’s IONIQ 9 premiere shows its unwavering dedication to furthering electrification in the future. The new SUV is expected to make headlines at the Los Angeles Auto Show and beyond, marking another important milestone in Hyundai’s shift to an all-electric, environmentally friendly portfolio.
