Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) concluded the fiscal year 2024-25 with total sales of 762,052 units, solidifying its position as the country’s second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer. Domestic sales accounted for 598,666 units, while exports contributed 163,386 units.

In March 2025, HMIL recorded sales of 67,320 units, marking a 2.6% year-over-year increase. This figure includes 51,820 units sold domestically and 15,500 units exported.

The company’s sport utility vehicle (SUV) lineup played a pivotal role in this growth, highlighted by the introduction of the Hyundai CRETA Electric, HMIL’s first indigenous electric vehicle, and the updated Hyundai ALCAZAR. Notably, the Hyundai CRETA emerged as India’s top-selling SUV, with 52,898 units sold in the fourth quarter of FY25.

HMIL also achieved significant milestones, surpassing 2.5 million cumulative SUV sales (domestic and exports combined) and reaching 1.5 million Hyundai CRETA units sold since the model’s inception.

“Our continued dominance in the SUV segment and the trust of our customers have reinforced Hyundai’s position in India,” said Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and COO of HMIL. “The launch of the CRETA Electric marks our commitment to sustainable mobility, while the Hyundai CRETA’s title as India’s No.1 SUV further strengthens our leadership in the segment.”

These accomplishments underscore Hyundai’s strategic focus on expanding its SUV portfolio and embracing electric mobility to meet evolving consumer preferences in the Indian automotive market.
