Hyundai Motor Group is planning to launch its first hybrid vehicles in India by 2026. The South Korean company is looking to increase its market share in a key automotive market by expanding beyond just electric vehicles.

Two individuals who are directly involved in the decision-making process revealed that the conglomerate, which includes Hyundai Motor and Kia Corp, is considering developing a hybrid SUV that would be similar in size to the popular mid-sized Creta SUV in India. As per one insider, Hyundai and Kia are targeting to introduce hybrid SUVs in India by either 2026 or 2027, while also continuing to advance their electric vehicle plans for the region.

In a statement, Hyundai Motor Group expressed its commitment to a future of electrified mobility and mentioned that it will tailor its product strategies according to the needs of each market.

According to information shared by three reliable sources, Hyundai Motor Group is planning to launch its first hybrid vehicles in India by as early as 2026.

The South Korean automotive giant is looking to expand its presence in a key auto market by diversifying its offerings beyond electric vehicles. Two individuals who have direct knowledge of the situation disclosed that the group, which comprises Hyundai Motor and Kia Corp, is currently evaluating the possibility of introducing a hybrid sport-utility vehicle that would be similar in size to the popular mid-sized Creta SUV in India.

One of the sources also revealed that Hyundai and Kia are aiming to introduce hybrid SUVs in India by either 2026 or 2027, while simultaneously making progress on their electric vehicle endeavors for the country.

In a statement, Hyundai Motor Group reiterated its commitment to a future of electrified mobility and emphasized its intention to tailor product strategies to suit the requirements of each individual market.
