The Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (IIT-BBS) has offered advanced certificate programs in battery systems and e-drives. These courses are especially designed to meet the needs of the modern e-mobility and automotive sectors.

According to officials, an agreement has been reached between the IIT Bhubaneswar Research and Entrepreneurship Park (IITBBS-REP) and the Nagpur-based pManifold EV Academy Pvt Ltd (evACAD).

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) pertaining to electric vehicles (EVs), more general zero-emission vehicles, and other green technologies, such as hydrogen and carbon capture, utilization, and storage for multi-sectoral applications, is what IIT officials say it calls for: cooperative research, consulting, and training in new energy fields.

An official stated that the advanced certificate program in e-drives and battery systems, developed by IITBBS-REP and evACAD, is intended for professionals and recent graduates seeking advanced knowledge in electric vehicle design with a focus on motors, controllers, and battery engineering. The program covers energy storage, supply chains, charging networks, and electric vehicle architecture.

The program will provide students with crucial exposure to startups and business, fostering talent that is prepared for real-world innovation in a sustainable future, according to Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, director of IIT-BBS.
