AutoNxt, a company known for its innovation-driven technology, has successfully launched India’s first indigenously manufactured electric tractor. Today, the first official vehicle registration of this tractor was carried out at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Thane.

Speaking at the event, Maharashtra’s Transport Minister, Hon. Shri Pratap Sarnaik, said that this electric tractor will prove to be a boon for both farmers and the industrial sector, triggering a significant electric revolution across the country. Last year, Maharashtra’s then Chief Minister, Hon. Shri Eknath Shinde, had unveiled this tractor, and within a short span, it has received an overwhelming response from across India.

The electric tractor has been successfully tested in several states across the country. It has delivered excellent results in applications with local self-governments, cow shelters (gaushalas), biomass plants, dairy farms, and sugar factories. Its efficiency, eco-friendliness, and fuel cost savings have been distinctly evident.

Until now, the absence of alternative solutions meant farmers and institutions had to rely solely on diesel-powered tractors. But with the availability of this electric tractor, its adoption is expected to grow rapidly in both government and private sectors. This will significantly reduce fuel expenses, lower maintenance costs, and provide substantial economic benefits. Being environment-friendly, it will also contribute to maintaining a cleaner and greener atmosphere.

Electric vehicles are emerging as an effective technology to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and increase energy efficiency. Both the central and state governments are consistently working to promote the adoption of electric vehicles.

Commenting on the occasion, Kaustabh Dhonde, Founder & CEO, AutoNXT said “This moment marks the beginning of a transformative shift in agricultural technology. Our indigenously developed electric tractor is a testament to India’s engineering capabilities and our commitment to sustainable solutions. In addition to this Mr. Pankaj Goyal, Co-founder and COO, AutoNXT said “It’s not just a product—it’s a movement toward a cleaner, more cost-effective, and future-ready India.”

Under the Maharashtra State Electric Vehicle Policy 2025, the target is to have 20% of new vehicle registrations comprising battery electric vehicles by 2025. Thane RTO officer Mrs. Hemangini Patil expressed confidence that AutoNxt’s electric tractor will play a significant role in achieving this goal.
