Jaguar India is no longer taking orders for the all-electric SUV, as seen by the removal of the I-Pace from its website. The F-Type sportscar has also been delisted after its worldwide manufacture was stopped last month. With this move, Jaguar’s only model available in India is the F-Pace SUV.
Jaguar made its first and only appearance in the nation’s electric car market with the I-Pace. When it was introduced in 2021, it was the second upscale electric SUV available for less than Rs 1 lakh, which energized the market. Unlike its continuously updated competitors, the Audi e-tron and Mercedes EQC SUV, which the I-Pace competed against, underwent no changes over its three years of sales in India. Even if the I-Pace will shortly be phased out globally to make way for Jaguar’s new.
Jaguar sold just 31 I-Pace models in FY2024, a significant decrease from the segment-leading BMW iX’s 738 sales. The I-Pace had two electric motors that produced 400 horsepower and 696 Nm of torque, together with a 90kWh battery pack. Our real-world testing revealed that the I-Pace could reach a range of roughly 410 km in a combination of city and highway driving situations.
The I-Pace was one of the most fun luxury EVs to drive because of its eye-catching design and thrilling driving experience. But in comparison to its rivals, it was smaller, less functional, and less comfortable; also, many common functions were only offered as pricey options.
In July 2013, the Jaguar F-Type made its debut in India as a convertible powered by V6 or V8 engines. Nearly a year after the coupe model debuted, a more fuel-efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine was added in 2018. In 2020, the vehicle underwent a mid-life cosmetic update.
