JBM Group will be able to enter the electric bus market in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana thanks to its new portfolio of electric mobility products. The company’s electric city buses are currently in use in 12 states, according to a report.
“JBM electric bus, ECOLIFE currently operates in 12 Indian states. We now plan to enter the J&K and Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh markets for electric buses as these states/union territories hold huge potential,” said MD & Vice Chairman, Nishant Arya, JBM Group.
The release stated that the group had unveiled its first electric luxury coach, ‘Galaxy,’ and also showed three new series of electric buses: an intra-city bus, ECOLIFE, and E-BIZLIFE for staff.
Arya stated in the release that the government is aiming to improve domestic EV manufacturing by increasing customs duty on imports. This is a reflection of its larger shift towards green growth.
According to the press release, the company unveiled its first electric luxury coach, called “Galaxy,” as well as three new electric bus series: an intra-city bus, ECOLIFE, and E-BIZLIFE for staff.
According to Arya, the government wants to improve domestic EV production by raising import customs duties. This reflects the country’s overall transition to green growth.
He was also pleased with the government’s announcement in the Union Budget that capital goods and machinery used in the production of lithium-ion cells for EV batteries would no longer be subject to customs duties. He also valued the addition of a year to the subsidy period for electric batteries.
