Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the electric vehicle division of the Jupiter Group, has officially launched its electric light commercial vehicle, JEM TEZ, at a price of ₹10.35 lakh. The launch coincided with the inauguration of JEM’s new manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Indore, designed to scale up production of electric vehicles.

The JEM TEZ boasts a range of over 190 kilometers on a full charge, powered by an 80kW peak motor and offering a 1.05-ton certified payload capacity. With its 23% gradeability and fast-charging feature, it can recover 100 kilometers of range in just one hour on any CCS2 charger. This makes the JEM TEZ an attractive option for commercial fleet operators.

The new manufacturing facility, spanning 2.5 acres, is capable of producing between 8,000 and 10,000 e-LCVs annually. The plant also features an in-house skateboard platform and vehicle assembly unit, which will drive JEM’s plans for expanding the EV market in India. This facility aligns with India’s “Make in India” initiative, enhancing local manufacturing and reducing dependence on imports.

During the inauguration, Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Group, emphasized the significance of the new facility, stating that it represents a milestone for both JEM and India’s sustainable mobility vision. The company targets a ₹100 crore revenue in its first year, with ambitions for a 2X year-on-year growth.

JEM plans a phased rollout of the JEM TEZ across key cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Chennai. In partnership with companies like Porter, Pulse Energy, Battwheel, and Tapfin, JEM aims to develop a comprehensive EV ecosystem that includes charging infrastructure, financing solutions, and after-sales support.

With an eye on long-term growth, JEM is committed to providing reliable and efficient electric vehicles for commercial use, contributing to India’s green energy transition while creating jobs and promoting infrastructure development.
