Jupiter Wagons electric vehicle division, Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), officially launched its first electric light commercial vehicle (e‑LCV), the JEM TEZ, at its Indore facility on March 3, 2025, alongside inauguration of a new 2.5‑acre manufacturing plant in Pithampur. The move marks a major milestone in JEM’s expansion into India’s commercial EV space.

At an ex‑showroom price of ₹10.35 lakh, the TEZ is built for urban logistics and last‑mile delivery. It features an 80 kW peak power motor, an ARAI‑certified payload of 1.05 ton, and a real‑world driving range of over 190 km per charge. With CCS2 fast‑charging support, the vehicle can gain more than 100 km of range within one hour.

The new Pithampur plant, spanning 2.5 acres, is equipped with an in‑house skateboard platform and full vehicle assembly infrastructure. Initially targeting an annual output of 8,000 to 10,000 units, the facility will scale operations in line with rising market demand.

JEM has also forged strategic partnerships to bolster its product and ecosystem capabilities. Collaborations with GreenPower Motor Company (Canada), Log9 Materials for advanced battery chemistry integration, Xavion Mobility for vehicle design, and logistics firms including Porter, Pulse Energy, Battwheel, and Tapfin aim to support charging, financing and after‑sales infrastructure.

In May 2025, JEM signed a memorandum of understanding with Delhi‑based logistics platform Pickkup to integrate 300 JEM TEZ units into its fleet by year‑end. Pilot deployments showed real‑world range reaching up to 220 km in urban and intercity routes. Powered by telematics and rapid charging tech, the TEZ seeks to reduce emissions while improving fleet economics.

Jupiter Wagons plans to capitalize on India’s fast‑growing commercial EV market — expected to hit ₹50,000 crore by 2025 — by launching 2‑tonne and 3‑tonne variants before year’s end. Executives say their manufacturing strength and integrated LCV platform give them an edge in capturing a share of the expanding electric last‑mile delivery segment across major metros.
