Kia is gearing up to launch a high-performance GT variant of its upcoming EV4 electric sedan, aiming to rival Tesla’s Model 3 Performance. The EV4 GT is expected to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering impressive acceleration and handling capabilities. While exact specifications are yet to be confirmed, the EV4 GT is anticipated to offer a compelling blend of power and efficiency.
The standard EV4 will be available with two battery options: a 58.3 kWh pack offering an estimated range of 235 miles, and an 81.4 kWh pack targeting up to 330 miles on a single charge. The GT variant, with its enhanced performance features, may have a slightly reduced range due to the additional power demands. Nonetheless, it is expected to support fast charging capabilities, allowing a 10-80% charge in approximately 31 minutes.
Inside, the EV4 GT is set to impress with a modern, tech-focused cabin. A panoramic display setup, combining a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, will provide drivers with a seamless digital experience. Advanced driver-assistance systems, including Highway Driving Assist 2, will enhance safety and convenience on the road.
Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV4 GT will benefit from a 400V architecture, ensuring efficient power delivery and charging performance. The platform’s design also allows for a spacious interior, maximizing passenger comfort and cargo capacity.
Production of the EV4 sedan is slated to take place at Kia’s Sohari plant in South Korea, with the vehicle expected to arrive in the U.S. market in early 2026. However, since the EV4 will be imported, it may be subject to tariffs, potentially affecting its pricing competitiveness in the U.S. market.
Kia’s introduction of the EV4 GT underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle lineup and offering performance-oriented options to consumers. As the EV market continues to evolve, the EV4 GT aims to provide a compelling alternative for drivers seeking both sustainability and exhilarating driving dynamics.
