JBM Electric Vehicles, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Ltd., has announced a strategic partnership with Hitachi ZeroCarbon to integrate advanced battery management solutions into its electric bus fleet. The collaboration aims to deploy Hitachi’s ZeroCarbon BatteryManager platform to optimize battery performance, extend lifespan, and improve operational efficiency across various climatic conditions.

The ZeroCarbon BatteryManager will be implemented in JBM’s e-buses to collect real-time data on charging patterns, route optimization, and asset utilization. This data-driven approach is expected to provide actionable insights, enhancing the total cost of ownership (TCO) for public transport operators and fleet owners globally.

JBM’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Delhi-NCR, with an annual capacity of 20,000 buses, will serve as the production hub for these advanced e-buses. The company’s diverse portfolio includes city, intercity, luxury coach, staff, school, and special-purpose vehicles, positioning it to cater to a wide range of transportation needs.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JBM Auto Ltd., emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating that it will enable proactive enhancement of battery performance under varying climatic conditions, leading to higher residual value and improved TCO for customers worldwide.

Ram Ramachander, CEO of Hitachi ZeroCarbon, highlighted India’s diverse climate as an ideal environment to showcase the capabilities of the ZeroCarbon BatteryManager. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would assist electric fleet operators in better understanding and managing their EV ecosystems, ultimately contributing to the global transition to sustainable transportation.
