Mahindra latest electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6, have created a huge buzz in the Indian market, securing an impressive ₹8472 crore in bookings within just 24 hours of their launch. The total number of reservations reached 30,179, highlighting the growing demand for electric vehicles in India, especially as the country saw approximately 1 lakh electric passenger vehicle sales in 2024.
The XEV 9e emerged as the more popular choice, accounting for 56% of the bookings, while the BE 6 secured 44%. A standout feature is the top-end Pack Three variant, which boasts a 79 kWh battery and has made up 73% of the total reservations for both models. This overwhelming response showcases the strong preference for high-performance, premium electric SUVs in India.
The overwhelming success of these models reinforces Mahindra’s commitment to its UNLIMIT India mission, which focuses on producing luxury, performance-driven electric SUVs. The XEV 9e and BE 6 are part of the company’s broader strategy to cater to the growing demand for top-tier electric vehicles, reflecting India’s shift towards sustainable automotive solutions.
Mahindra has also shared a tiered delivery schedule for the new SUVs, with deliveries for Pack Three starting in mid-March 2025 and progressing through various packs until August 2025. The company has opened bookings for both models, urging customers to secure their reservations due to the massive demand.
