Mahindra & Mahindra reported an 18% increase in sport utility vehicle (SUV) sales to dealers, driven by strong demand for models like the ‘Thar ROXX’ and ‘XUV 3X0’.
The company has also commenced test drives for its new electric SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, which boast a driving range exceeding 500 km on a single charge. These models are priced at ₹18.90 lakh and ₹21.90 lakh, respectively.
Mahindra plans to manufacture 90,000 units of these electric vehicles annually, with an aim to increase production to 200,000 units by March 2026. Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of February 2025.
The company aims for electric vehicles to constitute at least 20% of its SUV sales by 2027 and plans to launch five more electric models by 2030.
These developments are part of Mahindra’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market and reduce dependence on traditional fuel sources.
