Maruti Suzuki is preparing to introduce its inaugural electric vehicle, the e-Vitara, to the Indian market in May 2025. Initially showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, this electric SUV represents the company’s strategic move into the electric vehicle sector.
The e-Vitara will be available in three variants—Delta, Zeta, and Alpha—and offers two battery pack options. The Delta variant is equipped with a 48.8 kWh battery, while the Zeta and Alpha variants feature a larger 61.1 kWh battery pack. All models support 7 kW AC charging and 70 kW DC fast charging capabilities. single charge. The vehicle is powered by an electric motor that produces 144 PS with the smaller battery and 174 PS with the larger one, both offering a torque output of 192 Nm.
The e-Vitara is set to compete with established electric SUVs in the Indian market, such as the Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Nexon EV. Maruti Suzuki aims to position the e-Vitara as a segment leader by focusing on performance, range, and advanced features.
Maruti Suzuki plans to retail the e-Vitara through its premium Nexa dealership network, emphasizing the company’s commitment to offering advanced and sustainable mobility solutions to its customers.
