Maruti Suzuki has commenced bookings for its first electric SUV, the eVitara, following its unveiling at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. Interested customers can reserve the vehicle with a deposit of ₹25,000.
The eVitara is built on the new HEARTECT-e platform, specifically designed for electric vehicles. It offers a range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge and comes with two battery options: a 49kWh pack delivering 142 horsepower and 192.5 Nm of torque, and a 61kWh pack producing 172 horsepower.
The SUV features a 10.1-inch infotainment system compatible with smartphones, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated seats, wireless charging, and reclining rear seats. It will be available in ten color schemes, including four dual-tone options.
Safety features include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), automatic parking brake, blind spot recognition, 360-degree camera, seven airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The eVitara is expected to compete with models like the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta Electric upon its launch in March 2025.
