With the impending release of a Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV), most likely the Cloud EV, which was previously offered in foreign markets, MG Motor India is broadening its selection of electric vehicles. After the ZS EV and Comet EV, this car is MG’s third electric offering in India. Important design cues have been revealed through official means.
India has been the site of testing for MG’s new CUV, with spy photos frequently revealing the model. Its powerful alloy wheel design, elegant LED DRLs, end-to-end LED light bar, and illuminated MG logo are all highlighted in the teaser film that was released. A two-spoke steering wheel and a sunroof are two further elements that have been alluded to.
It is anticipated that the vehicle will have a 50.3 kWh battery pack, just like the ZS EV. This would be coupled with a front axle-mounted motor that produces 280 Nm of torque and 176 horsepower. The Cloud EV may have a longer range than the ZS EV’s stated 461 kilometers because of its lower weight. As a more affordable option, a global-spec vehicle with 134 horsepower, 200 Nm, and a 37.9 kWh battery that offers a range of up to 360 km may also be introduced.
The Cloud EV, dubbed a “Intelligent CUV,” is designed to appeal to younger buyers with its wide wheels, coupe-like roof, and towering stance. It is anticipated to be priced competitively, between the Comet and ZS EV, at less than Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom. With this pricing plan, it might potentially compete with the Tata Curvv EV, Nexon EV, and XUV400 models.
