Microchip Technology has launched its Electric Two-Wheeler (E2W) ecosystem, offering a comprehensive suite of pre-validated reference designs aimed at solving key challenges in the development of e-scooters and e-bikes. This ecosystem addresses crucial factors like power efficiency, system integration, safety, and time-to-market, providing manufacturers with the tools to build reliable and feature-rich electric two-wheelers.

The E2W ecosystem is built around Microchip’s automotive-grade components and modular reference designs, which offer a flexible, scalable platform suitable for various power levels and feature requirements. With full access to design files, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOM), manufacturers can streamline development and reduce the time needed to bring next-generation electric two-wheelers to market.

One of the key components of the E2W ecosystem is the advanced Battery Management System (BMS), which ensures intelligent power conversion and sensing to optimize energy utilization, extend battery life, and improve safety. Additionally, the system includes efficient power conversion reference designs, such as the 48V to 12V model, which enhances overall system reliability and performance.

Microchip’s solutions also include fast and flexible charging technologies, such as the 7.4 kW Single-Phase AC EV Charger Reference Design, which offers home charging with built-in protection features. Other innovations include USB-PD Dual Charging Ports for mobile devices, as well as high-performance traction motor control systems, ensuring smooth acceleration and precise control across a wide range of e-mobility applications.

With the E2W ecosystem, Microchip is supporting the development of smarter, safer, and more efficient electric two-wheelers. Its integration of advanced telematics, asset tracking, and cloud-enabled remote diagnostics aims to enhance the rider experience while optimizing fleet operations, solidifying its role in the future of e-mobility innovation.
