Mooving, India’s smartest swapping network powered by Livguard and a brand under the SAR Group, is delighted to announce a landmark collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Government of India enterprise. Under the partnership, Mooving will get access to 22,000+ HPCL retail outlets across India to install its automated swapping stations, marking a significant advancement in the country’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.
One of the key factors in HPCL’s decision to select Mooving was their commitment to indigenous, Make in India technology. After multiple rounds of discussions on their technical and delivery capabilities, HPCL chose Mooving for this collaboration.
Over the next 12 months, Mooving and HPCL will deploy 500+ automated battery swapping stations. Leveraging Mooving’s fully automated, man-less technology, these stations will set a new standard in convenience and efficiency, enhancing the user experience and setting the company apart from competitors. This strategic rollout will significantly boost battery swapping services, accelerate electric mobility adoption, and provide essential support to EV customers across regions.
HPCL is having more than 22,000 retail outlets across India, committed to de-carbonize mobility sector. HPCL has installed more than 3,700 EV charging across India to minimize range anxiety of EV customers. This partnership allows Mooving to leverage HPCL’s extensive network and Mooving’s innovative solutions to set a new standard in battery swapping, accelerating EV adoption, and supporting the growth of the green economy. An agreement towards this was signed by Mooving and HPCL, represented by Subhankar Dutta, General Manager, Retail Strategy and Business Development.

Building an eco-system of swap networks of EVs, this partnership will make owning an electric vehicle easier by offering Battery as a Service (BaaS) across the country, which takes care of battery costs, maintenance, and charging. By providing a seamless and efficient battery swapping experience, Mooving is driving forward the adoption of electric vehicles and reinforcing its role as a leader in the EV energy sector.
