Motovolt Mobility has secured the prestigious bid for the ‘Sustainable Transport for Rural Entrepreneurs through Electric Cycles’ (S.T.R.E.E.) project from Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL). This significant development aims to transform rural mobility across India and empower women entrepreneurs, especially those in Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The project is a key step toward providing sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions.
The S.T.R.E.E. initiative, a collaboration with the Union Ministry of Rural Development, will see the deployment of 1,800 electric cargo bicycles across Bihar, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. The goal is to improve mobility and accessibility for rural women and entrepreneurs while promoting clean transportation. This initiative also aims to enhance awareness about electric vehicles and build local capacity for e-mobility.
Motovolt’s role will be central in supplying and deploying these cargo e-bikes, specifically designed for rural applications. The company will also assist CESL by facilitating training sessions for SHG women, ensuring they can make the most of these e-bikes to improve their livelihoods and create new business opportunities.
Tushar Choudhary, the Founder and CEO of Motovolt, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting that it aligns with the company’s vision of fostering sustainable development and inclusion in rural India. He emphasized that the initiative is a critical step toward empowering rural women and creating economic growth through clean, green solutions.
In addition to its role in deployment, Motovolt will support CESL in its outreach efforts, coordinating with State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) to ensure successful implementation across the targeted states.
