Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has commissioned seven electric vehicle charging stations across key locations in the city, with three more set to become operational within a week.
Funded under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) with an outlay of ₹10 crore, the initial seven stations are located at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, Pramod Mahajan Garden, Ambad Link Road, Satpur fire station, Krishi Nagar jogging track, Satpur divisional office, and Mahatma Nagar cricket ground.
The upcoming three stations, powered by MSEDCL, will be installed at Ganeshwadi vegetable market, Amrutdham fire station in Panchavati, and B D Bhalekar ground, and are expected to begin operations soon.
Each station is designed to simultaneously serve two four-wheelers and six two-wheelers, with a standard charging tariff of ₹16.60 per unit .
NMC plans to expand this network to 20 stations in its first phase, including placing additional chargers at five divisional offices and public spaces like Tapovan bus depot and Phalke Smarak .
This initiative aligns with Nashik’s push toward sustainable mobility, reducing fossil fuel dependency, and fulfilling its policy to transition civic vehicles to electric power .
