The Noida Authority has submitted three shortlisted names to the Uttar Pradesh government as it prepares to launch a 500-strong electric bus fleet across Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway region this year .
The proposed names NGY Urban Mobility Service, GBN Easy Ride Service, and GBN Green Transport—aim to reflect a modern, eco-friendly vision for public transport. Officials say branding is aligned with a broader push to reshape urban mobility in the region.
Two private operators have already been selected: Travel Time Mobility India Pvt Ltd will handle 250 nine‑metre buses at ₹55/km, while Delbus Mobility Pvt Ltd will manage 250 twelve‑metre buses at ₹68/km. The buses will operate on 25 high-demand routes, including airport links, with ten‑15‑minute peak-hour frequencies.
A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) involving Noida, Greater Noida, and YEIDA will oversee operations over a 12‑year contract. It will manage fare systems and staffing, while private operators are paid per kilometre under a gross‑cost contract model.
The complete initiative valued at ₹675 crore includes bus procurement, charging infrastructure, and depot maintenance. While projected fare and ad revenue total ₹145 crore annually, operating and administrative costs exceed ₹370 crore, necessitating substantial viability‑gap funding.
Officials expect initial operations this year from terminals in Sector 82 and Sector 91, with further depots built in Greater Noida and YEIDA within a year. Each bus is projected to travel around 300 km daily, significantly enhancing connectivity and reducing congestion.
