Ola Electric has announced the launch of its third-generation (Gen 3) platform on January 31, introducing significant advancements in battery and motor technology.
The Gen 3 platform features an integrated battery system, a magnetless motor, and electronics housed within the chassis. These innovations aim to reduce costs by 20% and enhance efficiency by 26%. The magnetless motor utilizes magnetized electrical coils instead of permanent magnets to deliver increased torque.
In addition to the existing S1 series, Ola plans to introduce two new lines: the S2 and S3. The S2 lineup will include three variants: a performance-oriented model, a long-distance tourer, and a city-friendly commuter. The S3 series will focus on premium offerings, such as an adventure model and a maxi scooter.
The S1 range is expected to be the first to adopt the Gen 3 platform. Additionally, Ola may unveil its electric motorcycle lineup, which the company recently teased on social media.
