Megha Engineering & Infrastructures, Olectra Greentech has been awarded the homologation certificate by the ICAT for its 64 heavy-duty electric tippers. The prototype electric tippers which were displayed in Delhi and Bengaluru reportedly attracted a lot of interest.

According to Olectra Greentech, it is currently in advanced talks to secure an order for 20 electric tippers. The electric tippers‘ specs include a maximum torque of 2,400 Nm, a tipping angle of 46 degrees, a gradability of 25 percent, a load capacity of 28,000 kg, and a maximum range of about 150 km per charge. It has fast charging features that enable a two-hour full charge using a DC fast charger.

The company says its electric tipper complies with the Central Motor Vehicle Regulations and has received all necessary approvals to hit the road. Olectra Greentech says the country’s first e-tipper has been tested in various areas including mountainous areas, high altitudes, mining, and quarrying to find out whether it is suitable for roads. The ICAT certification is also recognized in the Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, and other countries, which would allow it to even explore export opportunities.

“Olectra is playing a major role in the electric heavy vehicle segment in India, and the e-tipper manufactured by their company has become the first certified heavy-duty electric tipper in the nation,” said KV Pradeep, Chairman and MD of Olectra Greentech. The Olectra e-tipper is the country’s first certified internal-engineered heavy-duty electric tipper. We recently displayed the prototype at exhibitions in Delhi and Bengaluru, which sparked a lot of interest and excitement. The first order, which will include 20 e-tippers, is currently in final negotiations. We’re soon going to introduce e-tipper and electric truck variants. We have only just begun our journey.

According to reports, the Olectra electric tipper will bring a green solution to the building, infrastructure, mining, and quarrying industries. Due to the amount of material that needs to be transported to work sites, these industries are very demanding. The total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the Olectra electric tipper is low, enabling owners to increase operating profits.
