Union Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized the critical role of battery swapping and charging infrastructure in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across India. Speaking at a recent event, the minister highlighted that a well-structured and widely accessible network is essential to meet the growing demand for EVs and reduce dependency on traditional fossil fuels.
Goyal underscored the government’s commitment to promoting green mobility and ensuring a seamless transition to electric transportation. “India’s EV ecosystem must be supported by robust infrastructure that addresses consumer concerns over range anxiety and charging convenience,” he said.
The minister also encouraged private players to collaborate in developing innovative and scalable solutions, such as battery swapping stations, which could reduce downtime for EV users. He reiterated the government’s focus on creating policies that incentivize investment in clean energy solutions and infrastructure expansion.
India aims to achieve significant milestones in EV adoption as part of its broader sustainability goals. Goyal’s remarks come at a time when the country is witnessing a surge in EV sales, driven by increasing environmental awareness and supportive government schemes.
Stakeholders across the EV value chain welcomed the minister’s call, recognizing the importance of a unified effort to establish India as a global leader in green transportation.
