Sinexcel, a leader in power electronics and electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has entered into a global strategic partnership with Phoenix Contact, a renowned provider of industrial automation and connectivity technologies. The agreement, signed at the Phoenix Contact Innovation and Industry Development Forum (PHIIDF) in Shenzhen, aims to enhance EV charging infrastructure worldwide by combining Sinexcel’s advanced charging technologies with Phoenix Contact’s high-performance connector solutions.
This collaboration seeks to deliver faster, safer, and more efficient charging experiences for EV users globally. By leveraging Sinexcel’s expertise in power electronics and Phoenix Contact’s proficiency in connector technologies, the partnership is poised to set new standards in EV charging performance and reliability.
A significant highlight of this partnership is the joint development of the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), unveiled at the Power2Drive Europe event. The MCS is capable of delivering up to 1,280 kW and 1,500A, making it suitable for heavy-duty electric trucks and commercial vehicles. This system incorporates silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET technology, achieving an efficiency rate of 96.2%, and supports flexible power allocation across multiple connectors.
The MCS is designed for scalability and compatibility with renewable energy sources, such as solar energy storage systems, to reduce grid pressure. Its modular architecture allows for capacity expansion, catering to the evolving needs of the EV market. The system’s design also emphasizes user-friendliness, optimizing both charging performance and cost-effectiveness.
Sinexcel’s global footprint includes the deployment of over 140,000 DC chargers across more than 60 countries. Phoenix Contact brings to the table its extensive experience in providing reliable charging cables and connectors. Together, their combined expertise is expected to accelerate the adoption of sustainable transport solutions and support the global transition to electric mobility.
This strategic partnership underscores the commitment of both companies to drive innovation in the EV sector. By integrating their respective strengths, Sinexcel and Phoenix Contact aim to enhance the EV charging ecosystem, offering solutions that meet the demands of a rapidly growing market and contribute to a more sustainable future.
