A study by the peer-reviewed journal ‘The Lancet’ found that more than 2 million Indians die every year from treatable conditions, which places India amongst the worst of 136 nations. One big failing in the healthcare system is patient transportation and response time.

India has a huge deficit in Hospital beds– a gap of nearly 2.2 million beds (To meet WHO guideline 3/1000 population). Building hospitals require high investment, so a solution is needed where Patients can be treated at home.

India also needs to provide easy access to Healthcare across its vast population, many people suffer as they cannot reach Doctors or Hospitals for proper and timely treatment. Elderly patients can benefit if on-call services are available, and they can be provided medical treatment at home.

In India, food / groceries / household items / handymen / taxis etc., are delivered / arrive at your doorstep, it’s important to find solutions to deliver healthcare support.

Imagine empowering Doctors to connect to Patients at Home with a purpose-built ‘Mobile Clinic’ (Sooorya eAmbulance). Attending to patients at home = adding virtual hospital beds, without having to build new hospital infrastructure. This is possible with an electric ambulance because it has adequate battery power to run medical equipment.

‘Mobile Clinic’ can become a new career opportunity for fresh doctors (over 100,000 graduating every year) and Healthcare professionals.

The government of India is offering subsidies for electric ambulances, but there are no manufacturers.

Sooorya EV intends to use the same EV platform to build the Taxi & Ambulance, so have made some design changes to accommodate the needs of both the Taxi Segment & Ambulance segment.

Sooorya eAmbulance can be used:

  • As a ‘Medical First Responder’ in emergencies.
  • As a ‘Patient Transport Vehicle’ for non-emergency cases. ❖ As a basic life-support ‘BLS Ambulance’.
  • As a ‘Mobile-Clinic’– the last-mile connect to treat patients at residences, apartment complexes, schools, factories etc.

Last year, health tech accounted for a quarter, or about $7 billion, of India’s $30 billion healthcare innovation market. By 2028, projections point to the market doubling in value to $60 billion with health tech potentially cornering up to 35%, or $21 billion.

According to Christie Fernandez – founder of Sooorya EV, Sooorya eAmbulance / mobile-clinic, is a born-electric & purpose-built electric vehicle that hospitals can utilise to expand reach and acquire clientele by servicing patients where they don’t have a network hospital or clinic.

Arvind Sharma – cofounder Sooorya EV emphasised that fresh doctors and medical professionals (paramedics) who are starting their careers, and trying to establish their practice and gain experience / clientele will find Sooorya Mobile-clinic an ideal platform to start their practice.

Babu Ramachandran – cofounder reiterated that Sooorya eAmbulance & Mobile-clinic offers significant business opportunity for all healthcare stakeholders (Doctors, Healthcare-service providers & ambulance operators) to grow their reach and earn more. Sooorya eAmbulance & Mobile-Clinic has a high social impact – expanding healthcare access and improving the health of our population.

In a world awakening to the imperatives of climate action and sustainable development, Sooorya EV stands out as not just a purveyor of electric vehicles, but a harbinger of change. With strategic investors and partners now welcomed to join its sustainable mobility mission, Sooorya EV is accelerating forward with it’s purpose-built electric passenger fleet vehicles & eAmbulance / mobileclinic.
