Statiq, India’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network, has forayed into the direct-to-consumer (D2C) segment with the launch of the NECTAR 7.4kW. This compact and  powerful, AC charger is designed to revolutionise the EV charging experience for consumers across the country. Currently, Statiq operates over 7,000+ chargers in 65 cities, encompassing tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 regions, showcasing its dedication to EV growth. With ambitious plans to expand this network to 20,000 chargers by 2025, Statiq reaffirms its commitment to the future of electric mobility in India.

India is making significant strides in transitioning to electric mobility, a key strategy for reducing carbon emissions in the transport sector. The country supports the global EV30@30 initiative, which aims for 30% of new vehicle sales to be electric by 2030. The Indian government has set ambitious EV penetration targets by 2030: 30% for private cars, 70% for commercial vehicles, and 80% for two- and three-wheelers. This vision aligns with India’s impressive growth in EV sales, which surpassed 1.5 million units in 2023, marking a 50% increase from 2022, according to a recent CareEdge report.

The NECTAR 7.4kW, symbolising a sweet liquid that nourishes, aptly represents how this charger ‘feeds’ EVs with essential power. It is a compact and convenient charging solution for electric vehicles, featuring a Type-2 connector ideal for four-wheeler vehicles. Despite its compact form factor of 432x259x148 mm, it delivers a powerful output of 7.4kW, ensuring a hassle-free overnight and anytime charging experience. The NECTAR 7.4kW comes with IoT capabilities and is enabled with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and 3G/4G connectivity. It also includes Bluetooth and RFID features, an IP66 certification, and an IK10 rating, offering robust durability and protection. The charger’s backlit RGB LED notification system, anti-theft feature with concealed mounting screws, and customisable skin colour options enhance user convenience and security.

Akshit Bansal, Founder & CEO of Statiq, said, “At Statiq, we are focused on delivering innovative and effective solutions to drive the growth of electric mobility across India. Our expansion aims to ensure comprehensive coverage nationwide, supporting the environment by promoting the use of electric vehicles. Our latest innovation, NECTAR 7.4kW charger, represents a significant milestone in this journey. This advanced charging solution is designed to enhance accessibility and convenience for EV users, making the transition to electric transportation smoother and more seamless. With NECTAR, we are not just introducing a new product; we are reinforcing our commitment to facilitating the widespread adoption of sustainable transportation. This move aligns with our broader objective of fostering an ecosystem where electric mobility can thrive, ultimately supporting a cleaner, greener environment for all.”

Raghav Arora, Co-founder & CTO of Statiq, added, “The NECTAR 7.4kW showcases our commitment to advanced technology and user-friendly design. The charger offers real-time data monitoring and an automatic mechanism to stop charging when the battery is full, preventing overcharging. Users can effortlessly control the charging process through the Statiq mobile app or by using an RFID card, ensuring a seamless and flexible experience. The app also provides a comprehensive overview of the charging status, empowering users with complete visibility and control over their EV charging sessions with Nectar. This innovative product is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable, and user-centric solutions that drive the adoption of electric mobility and contribute to a more sustainable future.”

The surge in EV adoption has highlighted the need for robust charging infrastructure. As of February 2024, India has 12146 operational public charging stations, with Maharashtra and Delhi leading with 3,079 and 1,886 stations, respectively. However, industry projections suggest that India will require at least 1.32 million charging stations by 2030 to meet the growing demand for EVs. The Confederation of Indian Industry’s report ‘Changing Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles’ estimates that approximately 106 million EVs could be sold annually by 2030. To support this demand, it is projected that India will need at least one charger for every 40 EVs, translating into a requirement of over 400,000 charging stations each year.

Statiq continues to set new standards in the EV charging industry, ensuring reliable and efficient solutions for all. The NECTAR 7.4kW exemplifies this dedication, offering consumers a blend of performance and convenience.
