SUN Mobility has announced the availability of conversion kits for Tata ACE vehicles in collaboration with Bluwheelz. Fleet managers can convert their current Tata ACE fixed battery cars or internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to swappable electric vehicles (EVs) through the initiative by utilizing SUN Mobility’s battery swapping technology.
Attendees at the launch included Tata ACE fleet operators and lenders. The retrofit option is presented to operators as a potential cost-saving approach when compared to purchasing new diesel or CNG vehicles. According to expert analysis, operators converting from diesel to retrofit battery-switching electric vehicles (EVs) might potentially save about 40% on a monthly basis. Similarly, operators switching from CNG vehicles might save roughly 30%.
With its swappable battery technology from SUN Mobility, the electric Tata ACE is said to provide longer vehicle life, lower operating expenses, and higher uptime. One possible productivity advantage in the Delhi area is the option to operate during no-entry hours.
Businesses can comply with government rules requiring the conversion to electric vehicles by choosing the retrofit option, which allows them to continue operating their current operations without having to make large expenditures in new vehicles.
Anant Badjatya, CEO of SUN Mobility, stated that the NCR would be the starting point for the program before it spreads to other states. The founder and chairman of Bluwheelz, Sanjiv Gupta, praised the partnership and described the retrofit kits as a way to switch to electric vehicles while perhaps lowering carbon emissions and improving operational effectiveness.
There was also a chance to talk about fleet operators’ perspectives on switching to electric vehicles during the event.
