Global engineering and design company Tata Elxsi announced its strategic partnership with Red Hat, the leading worldwide supplier of open-source operating systems, on Thursday. The goal of this partnership is to help mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and telecom firms install apps more easily within a 5G multi-cloud environment.
Through this partnership, Red Hat’s OpenShift, a container platform that offers a uniform and unified Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) layer across many cloud environments, is leveraged to its full potential. It also incorporates Neuron, a multi-layer automation technology from Tata Elxsi that improves the placement and modernization of 5G apps while streamlining cloud automation.
Red Hat’s In-Vehicle Operating System, Tata Elxsi’s TETHER, and a Connected Vehicle Platform (CVP) will be used in the joint development of 5G Connected Car activities. These programs seek to use Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), handle in-car data processing, and use edge analytics. Tata Elxsi is well-positioned to lead innovation in this field with to its established track record, award-winning connected car solutions, and proficiency in 5G network design, orchestration, automation, and testing.
When paired together, Tata Elxsi and Red Hat will help global operators leverage network potential by developing ground-breaking applications for the automotive, healthcare, and other sectors.
Vice President Vivek Tiwari of Tata Elxsi’s Telco 5G Business Unit expressed excitement about the role telecoms play in leading customer-centric services and implementing cutting-edge network technologies. Cloudification and hybrid/multi-cloud adoption are important due to these technologies; Red Hat offers a consistent CaaS layer across multi-cloud networks in addition to integrating AI/MLOps, DevSecOps, and extensive automation. Tiwari highlighted how Red Hat and Tata Elxsi working together can drive multi-cloud automation with edge analytics to provide customers with unique services.
