TATA.ev has announced an ambitious plan to more than double India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, aiming to establish 400,000 charging points nationwide by 2027. This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to making EVs more accessible and convenient for consumers.
Strategic Partnerships to Accelerate Expansion
To achieve this goal, TATA.ev is collaborating with key Charging Point Operators (CPOs) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). The company has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Tata Power, ChargeZone, Statiq, and Zeon to operationalize 500 TATA.ev Mega Chargers. These partnerships are expected to significantly enhance the charging network’s reach and reliability.
Introduction of TATA.ev Mega Chargers
As part of the expansion, TATA.ev is launching the TATA.ev Mega Charger network, which will offer superfast and reliable charging solutions. These chargers will be open to all EV brands, with TATA.ev customers receiving priority access and tariff benefits. Users can locate and access these chargers through the TATA.ev app, streamlining the charging process.
Enhanced User Experience with Verified Chargers
To further improve the charging experience, TATA.ev is introducing TATA.ev Verified Chargers. This initiative aims to reduce charging anxiety by ensuring that users can easily locate reliable charging options nearby. The TATA.ev app will provide real-time information on charger availability and status, enhancing user convenience.
Launch of Dedicated Charging Helpline and Unified Payments Wallet
In addition to infrastructure expansion, TATA.ev is launching a Dedicated Charging Helpline, offering 24/7 assistance for any charging-related queries. The company is also introducing a Unified Payments Wallet, allowing users to make seamless payments across various charging stations, simplifying the overall charging experience.
