Another order for 148 electric buses has been placed with Tata Motors by the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). The Tata Starbus EV12-meter low-floor electric buses will be delivered, operated, and maintained by TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Ltd., a completely owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, over a 12-year period.

With an uptime of over 95%, the bulk of the 921 electric buses that were previously ordered have already been delivered and are now a part of BMTC’s fleet. This current order builds upon that order. The Tata Starbus EV, which is well-known for its superior design and state-of-the-art technology, will provide Bengaluru residents with a comfortable and environmentally friendly travel. The buses’ next-generation architecture and state-of-the-art battery technologies ensure efficient, safe, and convenient intra-city commuting.

Shri Ramachandran R., managing director of BMTC, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership and gave Tata Motors’ electric buses high marks for their exceptional performance. In keeping with the city’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility, he emphasized that the 148 extra buses will bolster BMTC’s capacity to provide dependable, cozy, and eco-friendly public transit.

Tata Motors’ e-buses have now traveled over 2.5 crore kilometers in Bengaluru alone, drastically lowering CO2 emissions by more over 14,000 tonnes. This achievement shows the company’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and enhancing urban living with state-of-the-art mobility solutions.
