In a strategic move to enhance public transport offerings in the Middle East, Tata Motors has launched its first fully built Euro VI-compliant bus — the LPO 1622 — in Qatar. The launch was carried out in collaboration with local partner, Doha-based Al-Hamad Automobiles, and aims to meet the growing demand for cleaner, efficient staff mobility solutions in the region.

The LPO 1622 is designed to align with Qatar’s vision of sustainable and efficient transport systems. Equipped with a 5.7-litre engine generating 213 hp and 850 Nm torque, the bus offers advanced fuel economy and performance. It is specifically configured for staff transportation with a 53-seater layout, air suspension, and all necessary safety standards to enhance passenger comfort and safety.

Built at Tata Motors’ state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Lucknow, India, the new bus reflects the company’s global aspirations while staying committed to local market needs. The vehicle complies with Euro VI emission norms, representing a significant leap forward in Tata Motors’ commitment to clean mobility across international markets.

The launch event held in Doha saw participation from representatives of Tata Motors, Al-Hamad Automobiles, and local dignitaries. The companies emphasized that this new model would set a benchmark in Qatar’s commercial vehicle segment, particularly for fleet operators looking for reliable and sustainable staff transport options.

Al-Hamad Automobiles has been Tata Motors’ exclusive partner in Qatar since 2003, offering sales, service, and spare parts. Their dealership network and service capabilities across the country ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of the newly introduced LPO 1622 buses for large fleet buyers.

Tata Motors continues to expand its presence in the GCC region with advanced mobility solutions tailored to regional requirements. The launch of the LPO 1622 not only reflects its technological leadership but also reinforces the company’s commitment to global clean mobility and customer satisfaction.
