On September 14, Tata Motors will introduce the redesigned Nexon and Nexon EV. Tata Motors has not officially unveiled the two SUVs, but we recently wrote extensively about the exterior and interior of the ICE Nexon facelift as well as its powertrains and new version names.

(1) Tata Nexon’s upcoming redesign will take design inspiration from Curvv
(2) With a new naming scheme, it will receive 11 cuts.
(3) New two-spoke steering wheel will come with the Nexon makeover.

Tata Nexon interior and exterior facelift

The Nexon facelift will get a significant exterior makeover, blatantly borrowing styling cues from the Curvv and Harrier EV prototypes. This is the Nexon’s second significant facelift, and it will feature a new split-headlamp system, a full-width LED taillight, new alloy wheel designs, the removal of the Nexon’s previous Y-shaped design elements, among other changes.

The dashboard of the Nexon has been updated, and it now features thinner AC vents, a touch-based HVAC control panel, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a new two-spoke steering wheel. The rotary driving mode selector and the manual handbrake, however, are still in use at Tata Motors.

Although there isn’t a lot of information yet about the Nexon EV’s design, it will probably resemble the ICE version.

Tata Nexon facelift engine and model options

The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine and 1.5-liter diesel engine will remain under the hood of the Nexon. A new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed AMT are the options for the petrol. Only the 6-speed gears are available for the diesel engine, though.

Information on the Nexon EV’s powertrain has not yet been released, just like details about its design have not. In the upcoming weeks, further information about the Nexon EV is anticipated.

Tata Motors will also abandon the Nexon’s current name, which included the letters XE, XM, XM+, XZ+, and XZ+ Lux, in favor of the Punch’s naming convention. There will be 11 trims available for it going forward: Smart, Smart+, Smart+ (S), Pure, Pure (S), Creative, Creative+, Creative+ (S), Fearless, Fearless (S), and Fearless+ (S).

Rivals and anticipated price of Tata Nexon and Nexon EV updates The Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite will all be competitors of the Nexon facelift. On the other hand, the Mahindra XUV400

Expect the Nexon and Nexon EV facelifts to cost a little more than the previous iterations.
