Toyota inaugural U.S. battery manufacturing plant in North Carolina is set to begin production in April. This $14 billion investment will produce batteries for hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric vehicles for the North American market.
The state-of-the-art facility will create approximately 5,000 jobs and is part of Toyota’s broader strategy to enhance its U.S. manufacturing footprint. With the addition of this plant, Toyota’s total U.S. investment reaches $49 billion, supporting over 280,000 jobs across the country.
This facility, which has been in development since November 2021, is crucial to Toyota’s multi-pathway approach to electrification and will play a key role in the company’s long-term sustainability goals.
