Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC), the company’s first battery production facility outside Japan, is set to begin manufacturing and shipping batteries for electrified vehicles in North America starting in April. This state-of-the-art plant, Toyota’s 11th U.S. manufacturing site, is designed to produce batteries for various electric vehicles, including battery electric vehicles(BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles(PHEVs), and hybrid electric vehicles(HEVs) models.
The $14 billion investment will support approximately 5,000 jobs and contribute to the local economy. The facility is built with advanced technology and sustainable practices, aligning with Toyota’s commitment to carbon neutrality and clean energy solutions.
This project is part of Toyota’s broader strategy to support local economies and advance sustainable production. The plant represents Toyota’s ongoing commitment to electrification and innovation, bolstering its role in the U.S. market and advancing clean energy initiatives in North Carolina.
