TVS Motor Company is set to introduce a new, budget-friendly electric scooter in India around the Diwali festive season in October–November 2025. This upcoming model will be positioned below the existing iQube range, aiming to cater to cost-conscious consumers seeking affordable electric mobility options.
The new electric scooter is expected to be priced between ₹90,000 and ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more accessible than the base iQube variant, which starts at approximately ₹1 lakh. To achieve this competitive pricing, the scooter will likely feature a simpler design, basic equipment, and a smaller battery pack, potentially around 2.2 kWh, offering a range of 70–80 km on a single charge.
While the official name of the scooter has not been announced, there is speculation that it might be branded under the popular “Jupiter” nameplate, as TVS is also developing a CNG version of the Jupiter. Alternatively, the company has filed patents for names like “XL EV” and “E-XL,” suggesting a possible electric iteration of the iconic XL moped.
TVS has been a significant player in the Indian electric two-wheeler market since the launch of the iQube in 2020. The company has consistently ranked among the top three in monthly EV sales, with the iQube available in multiple variants featuring battery capacities ranging from 2.2 kWh to 5.1 kWh.
The introduction of this new electric scooter aligns with TVS’s strategy to expand its electric vehicle portfolio and make electric mobility more accessible to a broader audience. By offering a more affordable option, TVS aims to attract first-time EV buyers and strengthen its position in the growing electric two-wheeler segment in India.
Further details about the scooter’s specifications, features, and official launch date are expected to be revealed in the coming months as the festive season approaches. TVS’s initiative reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions and its responsiveness to evolving consumer demands in the Indian market.
