Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has received a significant boost in its Indian market entry plans, with its upcoming electric SUV, the VF 7, being honored as the ‘Most Awaited New Car’ by ABP Live News. This recognition underscores the growing anticipation surrounding the VF 7 as VinFast prepares for its official launch in India.

The VF 7, first unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, has captivated automotive enthusiasts and industry experts with its bold styling, advanced technology, and commitment to sustainable mobility. Designed under VinFast’s unique “Asymmetric Aerospace” philosophy, the premium C-segment SUV features signature V-shaped lighting, a panoramic glass roof, a tech-forward cockpit with large touchscreens, and an extensive Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite.

VinFast’s entry into the Indian market includes the introduction of the VF 7 and VF 6 electric SUVs, both of which will be assembled locally at the company’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The factory is expected to have an initial production capacity of 50,000 cars annually, scalable to 150,000 units based on demand. VinFast plans to commence vehicle sales in India in the second half of 2025, with a comprehensive dealer network across major cities and an omni-channel sales approach.

The VF 7 is offered with a single 75.3 kWh battery pack in two configurations: a base variant with a 204 PS/310 Nm single electric motor setup paired with a front-wheel drivetrain, delivering a claimed range of 450 km; and a top-spec variant featuring a 354 PS/500 Nm dual electric motor setup coupled to an all-wheel drivetrain, offering a claimed range of 431 km. Feature highlights include a 15-inch infotainment system, a heads-up display, 360-degree camera, and ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and blind spot detection.

VinFast’s strategic move into the Indian market aligns with the country’s push towards sustainable mobility solutions. The company’s investment in local manufacturing and infrastructure development demonstrates its commitment to contributing to India’s green transportation goals. VinFast’s presence at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025, where it showcased a range of electric vehicles including the VF 7 and VF 6, further solidifies its dedication to the Indian market.

As VinFast gears up for its official launch in India, the VF 7’s recognition as the ‘Most Awaited New Car’ by ABP Live News reflects the growing interest and excitement among Indian consumers for innovative and sustainable electric vehicles. With its advanced features, bold design, and commitment to local manufacturing, the VF 7 is poised to make a significant impact in the Indian electric vehicle market.
