Virtual Forest and Israel-based Redler Technologies received a Rs 33 crore Grant from GITA (Global Innovation & Technology Alliance). It will develop ASIL-certified EV motor controllers for light three-wheelers for the international market. Virtual Forest is an electronics design startup that specialises in motor control and human interface technologies.
The Grant is a portion of the India-Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund (I4F). It is a platform for collaboration between the governments of India’s Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Israel’s Israel Innovation Authority (IIA).
Omer Basith, CEO & Co-founder, Virtual Forest stated, “We are both honoured and thrilled to be selected after a comprehensive technical audit of our R&D credentials. We are one of the very few Indian startups to have been approved by the DST, without affiliations to Academic institutions or large corporate bodies. This will strengthen the national participation in critical climate action priorities like decarbonization and the increased adoption of green technology.”
The domestic EV rising rapidly a record high, India is also maximising the benefits of the EV revolution. The use of electric vehicles is being accelerated by policies like Production Linked Incentives (PLIs), FAME-II, and Battery Swapping, which are also strengthening the essential EV infrastructure.
