VLF India, a domestic electric vehicle manufacturer, has hinted at the introduction of a new electric scooter through recent social media teasers. This announcement follows the successful launch of their Tennis model in November 2024, which has garnered over 300 bookings to date.
The Tennis e-scooter is equipped with a 1.5kW motor delivering 157Nm of torque, paired with a 2.5kWh battery that offers a range of 130 kilometers on a single charge. It achieves a top speed of 65 km/h and is assembled locally at Motohaus’ facility in Kolhapur.
Industry analysts anticipate that the forthcoming model will complement the existing Tennis scooter, potentially targeting a different segment of urban commuters. This strategic expansion aligns with VLF India’s ongoing efforts to broaden its electric vehicle portfolio and cater to diverse consumer needs.
In addition to product development, VLF India is rapidly expanding its retail footprint. The company has established dealerships in several major cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Jaipur, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Goa, enhancing accessibility for customers nationwide.
The Indian electric vehicle market has experienced significant growth, driven by increasing consumer interest in sustainable transportation solutions and supportive government policies. VLF India’s proactive approach to product innovation and market expansion positions the company to capitalize on this upward trend.
While specific details about the new electric scooter remain undisclosed, VLF India’s recent activities suggest a commitment to strengthening its presence in the evolving electric mobility landscape. Observers await further announcements regarding the company’s upcoming offerings.
