Volkswagen is set to showcase its highly anticipated entry-level electric vehicle (EV) concept in early March, with production expected to begin in 2027. The new model, priced at approximately €20,000, is designed to make electric mobility accessible to a wider range of consumers.
This vehicle marks a crucial part of Volkswagen’s future strategy, emphasizing affordable electric transportation. The company has already made significant strides in the electric vehicle market, with over 1.35 million ID. models sold, including 500,000 ID.3 units, in addition to delivering 383,100 all-electric vehicles in 2023 alone.
Volkswagen plans to use the new concept as a foundation for its expanded electric compact car lineup, including the production version of the ID.2all, which will be available for under €25,000 in 2026. The new model will utilize Volkswagen’s latest modular electric drive (MEB) platform, aiming to further enhance its presence in the affordable EV segment.
