VoltUp to partner with BPCL in setting up 650 battery swapping stations and more than 7,800 charging points across 50 cities over the next 3 years. In partnership with BPCL, it will also set up 150 swapping stations across India by the end of the upcoming year. The goal of VoltUp is to provide smart swapping solutions every 3 to 4 kilometers. Additionally, it will be extending its reach in Mumbai with the addition of 40 BPCL stations and enhancing its position in Delhi/NCR with the installation of more than 50 stations.
VoltUp & BPCL will reportedly cover 50 of the world’s most populous cities, including Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore, Surat, and Kolkata. Due to the high traffic density, demand for ridesharing, ride-hailing, and last-mile logistics fulfillment in these cities is also high. As a result, switching is essential to accelerating EV adoption and enhancing time efficiency.
Over 45,000 electric three-wheelers and two-wheelers will have their batteries swapped out daily thanks to the VoltUp-BPCL partnership over the next three years. With the addition of Mumbai, VoltUp now asserts to have 110 stations and more than 1300 docks in 10 cities and 8 US states.
Since they can anticipate little downtime and low operating costs, delivery agents are selecting to have their two-wheelers powered by swappable batteries. In order to meet the rising demand, VoltUp, a manufacturer of electric two-wheelers with interchangeable batteries, has expanded its presence in Mumbai. Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) company VoltUp offers a one-stop shop for changing the batteries in all-electric two and three-wheelers. Riders are given smart-swappable batteries by VoltUp. This enables them to enjoy a similar experience to refueling with gasoline. They can quickly swap their batteries, preventing any downtime and getting rid of all the hassles associated with battery problems.
