Volvo has announced that its fully electric ES90 sedan will be officially revealed on March 5, 2025, in Stockholm, Sweden. This marks a significant milestone for the automaker as it continues to expand its electric vehicle lineup.
Advanced Computing Capabilities
The ES90 will be the first Volvo vehicle equipped with a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin configuration, delivering an impressive 508 trillion operations per second. This substantial computing power is expected to enhance the vehicle’s AI-based safety features, sensor integration, and battery management systems.
Superset Tech Stack Integration
Built on Volvo’s SPA2 architecture, the ES90 incorporates the Superset tech stack—a unified hardware and software platform designed for safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement through over-the-air updates. This integration allows the ES90 to evolve over time, offering enhanced features and performance to its owners.
Enhanced Safety Features
Safety remains a top priority for Volvo. The ES90 is equipped with an array of sensors, including lidar, five radars, eight cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors, collectively known as “Safe Space Technology.” This system aims to detect and avoid potential hazards, even in low-light conditions, ensuring a safer driving experience.
Global Availability
Following its debut, the ES90 is expected to be available in various markets, including Canada. Canadian customers can anticipate the opportunity to configure and order the ES90 through Volvo’s online platform, with deliveries anticipated to commence in the latter part of 2025.
