The new Volvo FH Electric will go on sale in the second half of 2025. “Our new electric flagship will enable zero-exhaust emission transport even for longer distances and be a great complement to our wide range of electric trucks,” the company said.

According to Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, “It will be an excellent solution for transportation companies with a high yearly mileage on their trucks and with a strong commitment to reduce CO2.”

Volvo Trucks leads the world in medium- and heavy-duty electric truck manufacturing, with eight battery-electric variants. The large selection of products enables the electrification of waste management, construction, long-distance transportation, and city and regional distribution. More than 3,800 electric trucks have been supplied by Volvo to clients in 46 nations so far.

Thirteen percent of carbon emissions worldwide are attributed to the transportation industry. Trucks that run on batteries are a vital instrument in the fight against global warming. Electric trucks not only improve the working environment for truck drivers by reducing noise and vibrations, but they also have significant environmental benefits, according to Roger Alm.

Volvo Trucks has a three-path technology plan to drive the shift to fossil fuel-free transportation and meet its net-zero emissions target by 2040. The three-path technology strategy is based on combustion engines powered by biogas, green hydrogen, and hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO), as well as battery and fuel cell electric vehicles.
